Young Rail Professionals31 March 2014
On 28 March CPC was lead sponsor for the Young Rail Professionals annual dinner at the Connaught Rooms in London. The dinner was a great success with over 500 young rail professionals networking with their industry colleagues. This is the second year CPC has supported the event and our first year as the organisations Platinum Sponsor.
Mike Brown, Managing Director of London Underground, delivered the key note speech and outlined the unprecedented levels of investment in the UK’s rail infrastructure and the responsibility of industry to attract capable, energetic and dynamic talent. He praised the role of the YRP in fulfilling a vital role in providing a platform for young professionals to learn about and make the most of these opportunities in the coming years.
CPC hosted one of three ambassador tables comprising 30 graduates and undergraduates from universities across the UK who have recently been introduced to the wealth of opportunities and who are now actively considering a career in rail. This level of involvement is part of a wider programme in which CPC has been building our associations with universities with guest lectures, career workshops, work placements, apprenticeships and partner arrangements to demonstrate the breadth of opportunities that are available to young people in the property and infrastructure sectors.
CPC looks forward to a close working relationship with the YRP, as their Platinum Sponsor, and to actively support their events and activities throughout the year and for many years to come.
