Mucking Visitor's Centre scoops three RICS East regional awards16 May 2013
The team involved in delivering Essex Wildlife Trust’s new visitor centre at Mucking has won three awards at the RICS East of England regional event. The awards included design and innovation, tourism & leisure and project of the year.
The centre at Thurrock Thameside Nature Park centre has been built on a former landfill site and has an innovative, sustainable design with superb views over Mucking Flats and the Thames Estuary (SPA). Sir David Attenborough officially opened the 120-acre Nature Park on Saturday 11 May 2013.
CPC provided Construction (Design and Management) Co-ordination (CDM) services, actively involving ourselves in the design process, advising the client and design team on how best to design out risk and providing guidance throughout the project lifecycle on regulatory and health and safety compliance.
Tim Barber, CPC Partner, said “CPC is proud to have been involved in the construction of this stunning new visitor centre providing a focal point for the nature park and transforming this former landfill site into an ecologically significant area”.
