RSC unveils restoration projects
3 December 2014
The Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC) has unveiled its restoration plans for the Swan Wing in Stratford-upon-Avon.
The Grade II* listed Swan Wing, which dates back to 1879, will be given a facelift as part of £4.8m transformation programme and is being project managed by CPC Project Services.
Work is due to start in January 2015 and will include conservation work, a major new exhibition installed throughout the public spaces, and the reconfiguration of The Courtyard Theatre into The Other Place studio theatre.
Jon Odell, CPC’s Project Manager said “We are delighted to be supporting the RSC to deliver these vital projects in time for the 400th anniversary celebrations of Shakespeare’s death in 2016, and finally reveal original elements of the building that have been hidden away for many years”
