The Christie NHS Foundation Trust

Capital Programme Management Office

The Christie is the largest cancer centre in Europe treating more than 40,000 patients every year and is known for its pioneering research and breakthroughs in cancer care over the last 100 years.

The Trust is investing over £200m in its Capital Programme over the next three to four years to provide additional and improved facilities at its principal and satellite sites across the UK.

CPC Role

CPC is responsible for the effective delivery of all major capital developments at the Trust and is leading the project planning, development, design, governance, procurement and delivery of these projects.

We are managing external contractors and consultants through the Department of Health’s ProCure21+ procurement route and NEC3 form of contract to ensure that the quality and efficiency of each project is maintained across the programme.

Many of the schemes involve engagement with partner organisations such as the University of Manchester and Maggie’s Centre and liaison with Clinical Directors and the Trust’s Board.

Under our leadership and coaching, the capital planning team are currently delivering four major schemes with a further five schemes in the early stages of development.

CPC has developed a Strategic Planning Framework with Manchester City Council to streamline the development of the site over the next 15 years.
