Communication Strategy and Stakeholder Engagement

Client: King’s Cross and St Pancras

Project Overview
London Underground has redeveloped one of its busiest stations, King’s Cross St. Pancras. At a cost of over Ł300 million, the programme included redevelopment of the existing ticket hall, as well as building two new ticket halls.

As part of the communications strategy, CPC arranged exhibitions, produced regular newsletters and established a 24-hour telephone help line for the local community as well promoting and develop media relations..

CPC’s Role
CPC was invited to manage the complex public relations initiative for this project with the main focus being community consultation. This involved building relationships and liaising with interested third parties including the local council, community groups, traffic management and public transport services, to establish a constant flow of communication and to monitor any issues that may affect the local community. To ensure the smooth running of this project and to eliminate potential roadblocks, CPC's PR and Communications consultant produced and delivered a comprehensive PR strategy which included stakeholder identification and analysis, research of the working environment, issue identification and mitigation and crisis management.
