Cost Management
Our Cost Management team operates on a number of fronts enabling us to offer our Clients a comprehensive range of construction cost related services
Quantity Surveying
Quantity Surveying is the planning and control of expenditure in the construction industry.
We see no benefit to our Clients in simply "cost reporting" expenditure after it has been incurred and when it is potentially too late to take corrective action.
In this respect we see our role as positive and pro-active in assisting the process of properly considered value engineering consistent with performance requirements and aesthetic considerations and we believe this is most eloquently demonstrated by the successful outcome of the cost control of the recently completed Obstetrics and Neo Natal facility at the Southern General Hospital In Glasgow.
Appraisal and Monitoring
Providing Clients and project funders with the comfort of a full appraisal and monitoring service to assess and control the risks attached to property development.
The service is offered for the entire development process from initiation, evaluation and acquisition through design and costing, permissions, commitment and implementation to the final letting, management or disposal of the property and is currently being provided on two multi £M prospective housing developments.
Lead Consultant/Project Coordination
This service is offered by our Cost Management team as a specialised added value offering to the services provided by our Programme & Project Management colleagues. The service can be as extensive or as restricted as the Client or the nature of the project dictates and can range from a full "hands on" management function through project co-ordination to that of employers agent.
In any set of circumstances the management function can be combined with elements of the quantity surveying services of contract advice, project procurement and cost control as is currently being provided to Barony Universal Products plc at their new production unit at Riverside Business Park, Irvine.
Expert Witness and Litigation Support
The extensive experience gained by senior colleagues over their years in the construction industry represents a valuable knowledge base that can be of great assistance to parties who may find themselves involved in a construction related dispute and CPC will be happy to provide expert opinion or assist with aspects of inter-contractual or contractor/employer related dispute.
Insurance Assessment
We provide insurance assessment services to a wide range of major property holding Clients ranging from insurance company pension funds to universities and commercial developers.
It is vital that Clients be protected from the potentially ruinous affect of under insurance or the ongoing unnecessary cost of over insurance and we will ensure that building replacement costs, assessed for the purpose of insurance, will be accurate and will not be susceptible to challenge in the event of a claim.
